See a beautiful example of 1900’s architecture and you haven’t even stepped inside!
The Maitland Regional Art Gallery is housed in a federation-style gothic building, which was constructed for the Maitland Technical College.
The gallery is home to more than 4000 paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs and limited edition prints by Australian and International artists.
Since 2005 the MRAG has been collecting works on paper, some Australian artists included in this work is Margaret Olley, Sidney Nolan and Judy Watson.
The gallery is 30 minutes west of Newcastle and is a short distance from the Maitland Visitor Information Centre.
