Wine regions can be tough for the dedicated beer drinker.
Believe it or not, there are some people – rare though they are – who can think of nothing worse than spending a week sampling wine.
To those who just can’t come to terms with the drink it can often be like licking grape juice of a AA battery – especially the white stuff.
So if you’re one of the brave few who turn their noses up at each and every glass of wine that is ever put before you, you may find yourself thinking that the Hunter may not be the greatest place in the world to visit. Grapes, bloody grapes everywhere.
But what if I told you that the Hunter Valley offers some of the best local breweries and boutique beers in the country?
You might even be able to convince some of your fellow visitors to come with you on one of those ‘tasting tours’ at some of the fantastic breweries that call the region home. Tell them it will be frothy and fun.
The Potters Hotel Brewery Resort is home to the Hunter Beer Co and is a great place for a tour and learn more about the greatest beverage known to man. They also have a great reputation for serving amazing food to keep you going through the rest of your trip.
You may also want to sample the offerings of the Matilda Bay Brewhouse or finish of the day with a visit to the Hunter Distillery, the only locally owned and operated business of its kind in the region.
