The Wollombi Valley is a location at the southern gateway to the Hunter Valley Wine Country. It’s just two hours from the Sydney CBD.

A small but thriving community resides in beautiful Wollombi. It’s a town bursting with charm and country hospitality, full of creative people who love the lifestyle.

There’s something for everyone in the Wollombi Valley.

There are cafes and boutique shops, wineries galleries, gardens and horse riding too. It’s the perfect stopover destination, whether you stay for an hour, an afternoon, a day, or a week.

It’s a town steeped in history. From when the first European settlers discovered the valley in 1797 during a search for escaped convicts, through to the timber and coal industry that powered the steamships. After that in 1823 some 20 acres of vineyards had already been planted on the fertile northern banks in the Hunter Valley itself and from there the Hunter Valley and it’s historical gateway have flourished, becoming a wine producing capital and a big draw tourist destination.

You won’t want to miss the Wollombi Country Fare, the next one is on next year, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August 2016.

Visit the locals and discover a laid back village on your way through to the Hunter Valley, it’s the perfect introduction to the character of the region and the lifestyle that so many country folk value so highly.
